No. 45 – Ramblin’

No. 45 – Ramblin’

There is a lot of root beer adjacent drinks out there, including birch beer, ginger beer and craft sodas. Perhaps the closest cousin to root beer is sarsaparilla. It is derived from a different root and is somewhat less sweet and more bitter than root beer. I go through all of that to say Ramblin’ is more sarsaparilla than root beer. It’s fine and has a smooth taste but it is more bitter than I’m used to. It has a slight caramel flavor and vanilla aftertaste. It’s a perfectly average brand. I do like the old school label on the bottle, however, and if you are more of a sarsaparilla fan, maybe give this a try.
