Unless someone gifts me a root beer I never had for Christmas, this is the last root beer review for 2023. The original Sprecher’s has become a top favorite ever since I tried it in Ohio this past summer. I liked it so much that I brought back an entire case back home. The maple version, perhaps, was cast in the shadow of its original version & I think I had too high hopes for it. For one, it’s an incredibly muted root beer. There are hints of wintergreen and the maple doesn’t make much of an appearance until the aftertaste. It’s such a smooth drink too. But the overall flavor profile doesn’t do much for me since everything is rather muted. I really wanted to like this one but it’s just average in my book.
