With the exception of number 67, the last five root beers and this one have all come from a store called Rocket Fizz. It’s a franchise that has numerous locations across the country that sells all kinds of craft sodas, unique snacks, & old fashioned candy. It’s a neat place & I need to plan a visit to one that’s an hour & a half away in order to find my next round of reviews. Filbert’s is another brand that had it start in the Midwest – Chicago – and its family run headquarters is still there today, nearly a century later. The drink has a nice carbonation and has a slight bite from the spices. It’s a little too sweet for my liking and beyond that I got hints of caramel, vanilla, and wintergreen. It’s a solid choice but I didn’t love it so it ultimately falls into the above average category. Regardless, it’s another win for the Midwest, the true hot spot for root beer in the country.
