No. 73 – WBC

No. 73 – WBC

There was a lot of things going for WBC before I even popped the cap. It’s a “Chicago style” root beer and I am unaware of what that truly means (I am aware of Chicago style dogs & pizza.) However, Chicago is fully in the Midwest & that usually means it will be a solid craft drink. Also, WBC is a label under the Sprecher brand. With the original Sprecher tied for first in my root beer rankings, that should hold considerable weight. However, it does not. It’s a rather weak tasting root beer. It’s smooth, slightly bitter and slightly sweet and has a light vanilla flavor that doesn’t last long at all. There’s a light wintergreen flavor in the aftertaste that got more pronounced as I continued with the bottle. Unfortunately, it’s just an average root beer. Nothing that wowed me to want to get again but nothing that tasted off. So, not all root beers from the Midwest are going to stand out.
