No. 74 – Mug

Of the more mainstream root beers that are easily available (IBC, Barq’s, A&W) Mug is what I call the forgotten little brother of the bunch. In fact, it’s taken me this long to realize I have yet to do a formal review of it. It’s a serviceable root beer and I’m willing to even call it above average when, honestly, it tastes about average to me. There’s no bite like Barq’s, it’s nowhere near as creamy as A&W, and there’s no nostalgia that I have with this brand like I do with IBC. It’s a safe root beer and honestly you could do a lot worse. But when there’s better mainstream alternatives, why waste your time? There’s a reason why I haven’t reviewed it until now & it’s taken me this long to realize why.
