No. 101 – Yinzer Pop

No. 101 – Yinzer Pop

I have never been to Pittsburgh though I am well traveled and know enough of the Steel City that everything on this can is a reference to it. The Monongahela River (I had to proofread that three times to make sure I wrote it correctly) is one of the three rivers that flows through the city, of course soda is called pop in this area of the country, & yinzer is used to identify the people of the western Pennsylvanian region that speak with a heavy Pittsburghese accent. That’s all interesting but this root beer is not. It’s just so-so. It has a nice bite but any flavor is almost nonexistent. Perhaps you can get a light caramel profile if you shut off your other senses. And there’s nothing in the aftertaste either. Now, there’s nothing here that is bad & if I had more of these cans I would definitely continue to drink them. Perhaps one of these days I’ll get to Pittsburgh itself, nothing else to try a sandwich from the local chain of Primanti Brothers. Anyway, this root beer fits in the average category. If I was basing it on a number scale with 0 as the worst and 10 as the best, it’s definitely a 5.
