On America’s birthday, I think of the wide open spaces that makes our nation that much more majestic. The Grand Canyon, Mt Rushmore, the Statue of Liberty, & the flowing Mississippi River are some things we think of when it comes to America & our history. Other things that come to mind are our national parks, from the Grand Canyon to the Joshua Tree NP in California, and Yellowstone. Many of these parks and others are on my bucket list to eventually get to but one is far down on my list and I’d be ok if I never see and that’s Death Valley National Park. It’s one of the hottest places on earth and yet, I have no idea why there is a root beer named after it. If you go to Death Valley, bring lots of water and not this stuff. On second thought, Death Valley root beer is incredibly watered down and so if you found yourself visiting the NP with a case of this stuff vs water, you might be ok. There’s not much to this stuff. It ain’t flashy, it ain’t totally bad, and it’s definitely not a complex brew. There’s a hint of vanilla that shows up throughout but that’s about all the flavor you will get. It’s a totally average root beer. Less majestic than the Grand Tetons and a little more reminiscent of a tourist trap on the side of road, a la South of the Border.
