There are some flavors out there that fall flat with me when it comes to root beer. Maple is one that has been either way too muted to being way too much and I’ve likened to it trying to chug a bottle of syrup. Orange is an another flavor that should never be included with root beer. Root beer and citrus are NOT a match made in Heaven. A match made in Heaven, however, is butterscotch & root beer. There’s just something about the combination that just works perfectly. As soon as I popped the top of the bottle, I could smell butterscotch. This is just a smooth drink with such a great butterscotch profile. I haven’t had the regular Dang Butterscotch in a while so I can’t truly compare the two. I’d say this may be a tad bit sweeter than my liking but I love how the flavor just sits on my tongue long after. It doesn’t quite reach the level of Dang but I think it’s still a top tier root beer.
