No. 108 – Monticello

No. 108 – Monticello

I have never once asked for anyone to buy me root beer & I’m always blown away when someone brings me back a bottle or two from their travels. Truly, it’s a honor that anyone would think of me. That’s the case with review Number 108, as my friends the Procik’s brought me a couple bottles of Monticello root beer from their travels to Virginia. Many thanks to you three but now I have no incentive to actually visit the home of Thomas Jefferson. Just kidding, it is still on my bucket list of places to travel. Anyways, the Monticello root beer is pure class, much like Thomas Jefferson himself. Like my favorite root beer of all time, Sprecher, it is made with honey and like butterscotch, the flavors just meld so well together. Unlike a lot of root beers, it holds its carbonation really well. I wasn’t expecting so many bubbles bursting forth though maybe I jostled the bottle a little too much, I’m not one hundred percent certain on that. And the flavor is so smooth with a great honey-caramel flavor that also sits on the tongue long after you drink it. I looked online to see if I could buy it without having to go to Monticello and you can with one caveat: it’s a case of 24 for 69.99. It’s a great root beer and one I even consider top tier but there’s very, very few root beers I have reviewed thus far where I would throw down that much money for a 24 pack. Regardless, maybe I can visit Monticello sometime in the near future and I can snag a couple more bottles. And if you enjoy root beer and your visits takes you to Monticello, grab yourself a bottle or two, you won’t be disappointed!
