No. 120 – The Three Stooges

No. 120 – The Three Stooges

There are two things I know you’re probably thinking. 1) How can there be 120+ root beers and don’t they all taste the same? The answer to the last question: have you even read the last 119 reviews? And 2) Why is there a Three Stooges branded root beer? Well, I can’t answer that & even though their brand of comedy has made countless fans throughout the years, I am not one of them. I have seen several “episodes” of the Three Stooges but never have I ever seen an episode the whole way through. Anyways, I had little hope in this root beer, I figured my fandom of the Three Stooges would probably eclipse me liking this drink. And we’ve seen this type of root beer before: Hoover Dam, Chumlee from Pawn Stars, Death Valley…all cashing in on their superior namesakes and all average at best. And while I didn’t have high hopes for this one and yes it exceeded the low bar I gave it, it still ranks average at best. It’s generic, unremarkable, no herbal bite to speak of, and the carbonation leaves much to be desired. There’s a slight licorice flavor with vanilla putting in some heaving lifting throughout but it’s not enough to get it past a low average brew. Would I prefer watching a Three Stooges short? Even that’s a tall order for me. Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk.
