Sprecher – Honeycrisp Apple

Ever since I reviewed the original Sprecher root beer almost two years ago, I have become obsessed with the Sprecher brand. The original root beer is tied with Barq’s as my favorite root beer. There are some great root beers out but so far, none have come close to even dethroning Sprecher or Barq’s at the top. And if I had to guess, I doubt there will ever be a root beer that truly comes close. I always have an open mind but as the root beers become harder and harder to find (after 120 reviews thus far) it would truly have to be a diamond in the rough.

Thus far, I have reviewed several other Sprecher drinks in addition to every single root beer they have released. If you’re looking for a fully caffeinated root beer (not sure why) then you can’t go wrong with theirs as it tastes exactly the same as the original. Their low-cal option is definitely one of the better “diet” root beers out there as well. Sprecher Cherry Cola is one of the best out there. As a side note, I’d probably would be reviewing cherry cola drinks if it weren’t my love for root beer. Also, their orange soda is high up there and their version of Dr. Pepper is ok but in no way, shape or form would ever come at dethroning the king himself.

My next attempt at reviewing all the Sprecher drinks is Honeycrisp Apple. I was intrigued to try it as it would be totally different from the usual drinks I typically review. If apple cider is a good example of what an apple drink should be like on a cold, winter night then this drink is what you should seek out on a hot, humid summer day in the middle of July. This is like the freshest apple drink I have ever tasted. Honestly, it’s like they just squeezed the juice right before they bottled it up. With the addition of honey, it elevates the taste even more. It has a slightly tart/slightly sweet profile and it’s just so refreshing as you drink it. If you’re looking for something that’s slightly different but yet something familiar, you can’t go wrong with Sprecher Honeycrisp Apple. On a hot day, this would hit on so many levels.
