No. 128 – Appalachian Diet

No. 128 – Appalachian Diet

It’s been nearly two years since I’ve had the regular version of Appalachian. It was review No. 31 so nearly 100 reviews separate the two. The struggle in constantly finding new root beers is I rarely re-visit previous ones I’ve reviewed unless they are very, very good. With nearly two years of root beers separating the two, I had to go back & read what I initially said of the original. And honestly, what I said of the original can be applied to the diet. It’s largely so-so, utterly forgettable in the grand scheme of root beers, and with the exception of honey, there’s not much to report. There’s very little carbonation or flavor to be had in the bottle. The plus side is even though it is a diet drink, there’s no harsh or bitter aftertaste with the lack of sugar. It’s as average as average can be and if nothing else, if future me forgets and is reading this, skip Appalachian altogether, regardless if it’s diet or the regular version.
