No. 129 – Dead World

No. 129 – Dead World

I am a nerd. That shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. For my closest friends, they know I am a Star Wars/Marvel/Disney fan. And of course I am a root beer nerd. But even so, all nerds don’t have the time & effort to like everything nerdy. I don’t have the time/money/space to collect comic books & at this point in my life, I wouldn’t know where to begin. I believe Dead World is a comic but my nerd franchise quota is full & I’m not about to spend any effort in looking it up. Besides, I think the whole zombie schtick has overstayed its welcome.

But Travis, I’m not here for your rants on nerd-dom but for the root beer rants. And sir (or ma’am) I got you covered. The root beer inspired by Dead World is very vanilla heavy. And when I say vanilla heavy, it’s almost like they dumped a whole bottle of vanilla extract in with the root beer. It’s not totally undrinkable but if you don’t like vanilla, you are not going to like this at all. There’s a strange fruity aftertaste but I think it might be the vanilla playing tricks on me. It also could be wintergreen and with all the vanilla the mixture could turn a bit fruity. I don’t know, I am not a chemist. I am, however, a root beer connoisseur & while this drink isn’t totally undrinkable it is incredibly sugary. It’s a below average root beer because it’s overwhelming with the vanilla flavor. If it was dialed back some, it would probably get into average territory.
